ORWMA Meeting Minutes

December 14, 2024

President’s Report – Earl Fly; Earl was thanked for his service as his term is ending. He reported how part of ORWMA president duties is serving with CCWMA for the spring banquet and scholarships.

First Vice President’s Report –Steve Jaap; no report.

Second Vice President’s Report – Jerry Rogers; no report.

Treasurer’s Report - Larry Carroll; presented the Treasurer’s report. Earl asked some questions about checks and Larry will check status.

Secretary – Angie Peters; no report.

Events – Youth Hunt was November 22-24 and great success. New event chairperson starting in January 2025.

Habitat – New habitat chairperson starting in January 2025.

Predator – Doug Mason; 212 hogs removed this year and 3 traps are out. Hog busters disbanded.

Whitetail – Jerry Rogers; requested update from deer checkers. Four responded and the count from these 4 are 24 does, 8 bucks. This includes 18 does and 3 bucks from doe hunt.

Birding – Jean Stipelcovich; Winter census will be planned for February 1, 2025 or if rained out, February 8, 2025. More details to come. Jean also reported on a birdweather puc (birdweather.com) that captures birds (from calls) 24/7. There are different station types.

Turkey –David Konarik; no report.

Communications – Angie Peters; no report.

New President- Vernon Wallace was voted as President and his term begins January 1, 2025. He will put together a welcome letter and include information about dues are due.

Future Events – a gumbo cookoff is being planned for early 2025.
