ORWMA will once again host the Texas Youth Hunt Program. The Texas Youth Hunting Program (TYHP) was formed with the Texas Wildlife Association and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in1996 to provide opportunities for youth to participate in hunting activities safely, legally, and ethically, while learning about the role landowners and hunters play in wildlife conservation. This will be a doe and hog hunt and is scheduled for November 22 – 24. We are expecting 15 hunters along with their guardians. Currently, we are looking for landowners who want to volunteer their deer stand. To shoot a doe, the landowner must have MLD tags. For any doe shot, a new MLD tag will be issued to the landowner.

On Saturday night, November 23, all landowners are invited to the evening meal. ORWMA will provide barbequed chicken, sausage, and sides for supper. In addition to the main meal, we would like to request donations of baked goods (ex: cookies, brownies, cakes, pies, etc.) for dessert from our group of ORWMA members. All baked goods must be individually wrapped. Please let us know if you will be able to assist in this effort.

We are also accepting cash donations to assist with the hunt.

We will need assistance setting up tables and chairs as well as assistance with meal preparation.

If you would like to be involved, please contact Vernon Wallace at 713-444-021 or Ricky Konvicka at 979-732-4989

We will have more details after our October Planning Meeting.

Thanks
