President’s Message

ORWMA update

We said good riddance to 2020 and then came the deep freeze of 2021. Not Covid, but Snowvid. Hope everyone is recovering from all the plumbing issues. Last year almost every event we planned had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions. This year the Covid vaccinations are in full swing and the Governor has lifted the face mask restrictions so, maybe we might be closer to getting back to normal.

In February, we did management to hold the Winter Bird Count and the Purple Martin Seminar which was highly informative. We have a busy April planned.

The April ORWMA Board meeting will be held at the Community Center on April 11th at 1 pm. We hope to have Mark Lange (the Wildlife Biologist for our area) present to discuss the upcoming changes to the Managed Land Deer Program (MLDP) and how it will affect ORWMA. Of course, all landowners are invited to attend. The following weekend, April 17th we will host the annual Fish Fry and Crawfish Boil. This our annual fund raiser. This year we are fund raising for the Columbus Food Pantry. You may donate non-perishable food items or cash. Mark Lange will speak at 4 pm about the MLDP changes and we will begin serving at 5 pm.

On April 24th we will meet at the front gate at 8 am for the CR 215 road clean up. If you did not turn in your grabber from last time, be sure to bring it with you.

There is also lots of new construction going on around the Ranch. So, we are continuing to grow as a community. I hope you make the opportunity to meet your new neighbors and welcome them to the community.
